Founded in Amsterdam, Studio Mondriaan was born out of a desire to merge fine art with functional design. We look back to 1917, when Theo van Doesburg, Piet Mondrian, and Gerrit Rietveld established the De Stijl movement.
By restricting our visual language to horizontal and vertical lines and a palette of three primary colors (crimson red, deep blue, bright yellow) along with black and white, we achieve a timeless aesthetic harmony that stands independent of temporary design trends.

The four pillars of neoplastic furniture craftsmanship.
We avoid symmetric stagnation. Our pieces use balanced weight distribution, positioning heavy colored panels offset against airy, open grids to create a visual sense of movement.
No curves. No diagonals. Only pure 90-degree intersections. Every joint, frame, and panel is measured to achieve perfect visual proportions and stable craftsmanship.
We use exact color values inspired by Mondrian’s original work: Crimson Red (#E11D48) for passion and weight, Deep Blue (#2563EB) for depth, and Vivid Yellow (#FBBF24) for active reflection.
Solid black lines form the structural boundaries, separating the primary color fields and empty white spaces, mirroring the lines of modern Dutch architecture.

Every single cabinet, chair, and table is manufactured at our custom workshop in the heart of Amsterdam. We source our wood from sustainably managed local Dutch forests, and apply premium, durable coatings that preserve the raw texture of the wood grain underneath the glossy lacquer.
Our artisans respect the classical construction techniques of Gerrit Rietveld, ensuring that our furniture remains robust, functional, and beautiful for generations.
